The 2019 mockbuster Monster Island by The Asylum was released at the same time that Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It is about an island called Monster Island. A monster could be found there, and who may then become part of the island, the Monster Island.


Since this is a movie about an asylum, it has a budget about equivalent to a huge kid's meal and (new update) utilizes it carefully. The movie is focused on a handful of human characters. All sequences can also be shot in lunch breaks. The Asylum may not do such a terrible job, but we must remember that this is the kaiju-genre.
